Kathleen Valley

Our project at Kathleen Valley in Western Australia will be one of the world’s largest lithium mines when it comes into production in mid-2024.

Final Investment Decision (FID) approval was given by the board in June 2022 following the execution of binding offtake agreements with Tesla, Ford and LG Energy Solution and the signing of a $300 million finance facility with Ford and construction commenced in December 2022.

“If you want to be producing in 2024, which is our target, you need to be in construction today – and we are.”
Adam Smits, Chief Operating Officer

Buldania

Buldania is a highly prospective lithium project located south of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. Our active drilling program at Buldania has confirmed a mineral resource estimate of 15 million tonnes of 1.0% Lithium oxide (Li2O).

In March 2022, Liontown released the results of a drilling programme defining a maiden Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of with an initial Mineral Resource of 15 million tonnes of 1.0% lithium oxide (Li2O). Further drilling work is underway to determine the depth and perimeter of the current Mineral Resource.

Downstream Expansion

As part of our overall strategy to create value for shareholders, we are actively investigating the potential for an integrated refinery to upgrade our spodumene from the Kathleen Valley mine to higher value lithium products that will meet the needs of our customers.
