Liontown launches Traineeship in Resource Processing course

01/07/2024

We have developed a Kathleen Valley focussed traineeship in Resource Processing with support from Trainwest and Apprenticeship Support Australia. As part of our dedication to providing training and development to employees, all members of our Processing Team are invited to complete the traineeship, which gives them a national qualification and recognition for the experience. Since we opened up registrations for the traineeship last month, 23 trainees signed up.

The traineeship in Resource Processing equips participants with essential skills for operating the processing plant at Kathleen Valley and for working in mineral processing. The program covers various areas including work health and safety, quality assurance, environmental practices, effective communication, operating and maintaining processing equipment, conducting sampling and testing, and control room operations. The training involves a mix of classroom learning, practical hands-on training, and on-the-job experience, with assessments through written tests, practical tasks and workplace evaluations.

The two-year program has been developed and written by our team at Liontown and aligns with existing workplace assessments. It has been endorsed by Trainwest and registered with the State and Federal Governments.
