Team Liontown Runs for a Reason
30/05/2025On Sunday 25 May, our team members and many of their families laced up their sneakers and hit the streets of Perth to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation in the 2025 HBF Run for a Reason. It was a challenging but incredible day that tested the team’s abilities and showed what we’re capable of, all while supporting people living with blood cancer.
Procurement Administrator Tomaz Oliveira said, “It was a great experience. As it was my first time, it felt quite intense and exhausting, but seeing so many people still running kept me motivated to push through and finish it.”
Some walked, some jogged, and some ran the 3km, 12km or Half Marathon courses through the wild, rainy weather that hit Perth that day, surrounded by 40,000 others, all running for different causes important to them. Special kudos to Plant Metallurgist Mahan Lari for weaving through the crowds and achieving an impressive half marathon time. The event raised over $1.9 million in total for those in need, supporting over 350 local charities.
“It was nice to see so many people running for different reasons and donating their warmer layers at the start line to those in need,” shared Principal Metallurgist Ian Rolley.
It was great to see our employees get involved and support a good cause.
