International Women’s Day 2025
07/03/2025On Friday 7 March we marked International Women’s Day at Kathleen Valley and our Perth Office (ahead of the official date on the weekend) by celebrating the women at Liontown who are breaking barriers and kicking goals.
Underground Manager Holly Keenan shared her story at the event, live to an enormous turn out at the Kathleen Valley Dragonfly Village and streamed to the team in Perth who watched on the TV screen in the office kitchen.
She spoke about her journey from being a teenager with a dream of leading an underground mining operation to standing in that role today at one of the world’s first large-scale underground lithium mines, and what can be done to achieve gender equity in mining. She shared how important role models are and the importance of inspiring school and university aged girls to follow their dreams and enter the mining industry.
At the Perth Office, Executive General Manager Emma Coulthard also spoke about the history and significance of the day, reminding us how important it is that we continue to close the gap between men and women’s rights, safety, pay and more.
Big thank you to Zoe Cowan for championing the event on site, and to Ashley May and Tandi Buitendag for bringing together the event in Perth.
Liontown is committed to supporting women as they lead, innovate and achieve great things. Let’s march forward for all women and girls!
