Chrissy and the team behind a 200,000 tonne achievement

28/04/2025

Last month, Liontown surpassed the milestone of 200,000 dmt of Kathleen Valley spodumene concentrate trucked to the Port of Geraldton. Senior Concentrate Logistics Officer Chrissy Gagliardi played a key role in this achievement.

An avid surfer and dog lover, Chrissy joined Liontown approximately 18 months ago, bringing eight years of experience in mining, primarily focused on supply chain management. “I joined the logistics team prior to the commencement of operations and helped develop the systems and controls we currently have in place,” Chrissy shared.

She also spent time with the Projects team and contributed to getting Kathleen Valley operational, on schedule, managing a wide variety of projects in the last stretch of construction. Chrissy felt incredibly proud to contribute to Liontown achieving production on schedule, especially when she saw the first ultra-quad road train loaded with concentrate at Kathleen Valley and the first shipment sent to a customer from Geraldton.

Now, Chrissy’s focus is on fleet optimisation of our trucking program, and stock and quality control of the Kathleen Valley concentrate. “This ensures we can meet the export plan at Geraldton and deliver the cargo to our customers, on time and on grade specifications,” she explained.

200,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate produced at Kathleen Valley and transported in just over six months of operations is an impressive feat that Chrissy and the team can be very proud of. “It’s a delicate balancing act between the trucking program and stock positions, so it’s never a dull day in logistics,” Chrissy said. Processing Manager Rowan Kerr expressed his gratitude for her outstanding efforts, sharing, “She has by far and away smashed all expectations in terms of contractor engagement.”

Reaching this milestone highlights the strength of our team and the wonderful people who make Liontown such a great place to work. “The entire team has an incredible amount of collaboration and support for one another. There is a genuine spirit of teamwork that you won’t see at other workplaces,” Chrissy said. “From the project team to operations, the people are the ‘why’ I come to work, as it’s not every day you can come to work to be authentically yourself.” A big congratulations to Chrissy and to everyone who’s played a part in our successful start to operations and achieving this 200,000 tonne milestone.
