28/03/2025

Contracts Specialist Lauree Conte has two decades of experience in the mining industry. Starting her mining career at 18 years old, 14 of those years were spent working FIFO and 6 based in Perth. She has experience spanning copper, gold, nickel and now lithium. “My background is diverse, encompassing both operations and exploration. I am also in my final year of completing a Business Law degree and have extensive experience in shipping, contracts and human resources.”

At Liontown, Lauree is part of our Contracts and Procurement Team in the Perth Office. She explains, “My day primarily involves managing tenders, negotiating pricing and contract terms, drafting and executing contracts, overseeing premobilisation activities, and addressing any contract-related queries from site personnel.”

She has played a key role in managing the contracts for our underground development at Kathleen Valley, ensuring everything is on track for stoping to commence in Q4 FY25. Lauree shared, “My involvement has spanned various tasks, including paste fill bore hole drilling, diamond drilling, installing the paste fill reticulation system, raise bore drilling and soon, the installation of the primary ventilation fans.” Working alongside such talented people to deliver these projects has been a highlight for Lauree.

It’s not just the underground team that Lauree enjoys working with. Right across the expanse of Liontown’s various teams, her favourite things about working here are the people she works with, and the fun, ambitious and supportive culture.

Lauree’s career journey shows how hard work and adaptability can lead to success. From starting in mining at 18 to playing a key role in Liontown’s operation today, she has taken every opportunity to grow and learn. Whether managing contracts, studying for her Business Law degree, or running a sustainable swimwear business, Lauree balances it all with focus and determination. Her story highlights the great people and supportive culture at Liontown and shows what can be achieved with a mix of ambition and teamwork.
